Minnow Imitations – Shapes that imitate small baitfish were some of the first soft plastic baits. They often duplicated the size and general shape of common prey species, but did not include much detail or action.
Today, there are hundreds of varieties; some are basically fish-shaped bodies with moderate tail action, others are long and straight that twitch from side to side or up and down when retrieved. These undoubtedly fool game fish into thinking the lures are actual baitfish.
